Symbiosis Law School, Pune under the Jean Monnet Chair- EUCLAMP launches a Certificate 10-credit on European Union Climate Justice Law, Governance, Management and Policy.
About the Programme
This certificate programme is designed to provide an opportunity to students and professionals interested in the field but with no access to this type of specialized content to upgrade their competencies, skills and knowledge. The participants can be students from any discipline as there is a broad and interdisciplinary approach adopted in the certificate programme.
The certificate programme will enhance employability in the following fields: climate research, climate impact assessment, climate change and sustainability, climate risk, climate justice, climate advocacy, climate finance, climate law, renewable resources, climate data analysis, value chain modelling, green product designing, green energy, sustainable financing and natural resource management, climate change modelling, policy and governance.
This course will provide in-depth knowledge of EU law and practice in various areas relating to climate change law which is highly relevant for practice and research.
Course Overview
- Principles and Foundation of EU Law
- Green Philosophy and Ethics (including green lifestyle, food security, precautionary principle, sustainability)
- Climate Justice law, Policy, governance with focus on EU and Asia (India, China, ASEAN)
- EU and India Energy Law (including Energy Audit, carbon credits and trading)
- Clean Air Law in Asia and Europe
- Climate Change and Global Sustainability (including mitigation, adaptation, Indigenous People and resilience, biodiversity)
- Green compliances for business industries (including Green Business, green markets)
- Science, Technology, Innovation and business practices relating to climate change
- Waste Management Policy and Law (including hazardous waste management)
Programme Details
It is a 10-credit course (5 hours of teaching learning per week including 8 hours field study + 8 hours of self-learning plus assessment per week) starting from 11th March 2024 to 31st May 2024, which will be conducted in a Hybrid Mode.
The course shall be conducted in the evenings from 4.30 p.m to 6.30 p.m. The course will be conducted in a hybrid mode through zoom and physically at SLS, Pune. For outside participants SLS, Pune can make arrangements for online participation and evaluation. SLS Pune can also assist in finding accommodation, however the cost of it will be borne by the participants. No TA/DA will be provided by the SLS, Pune.
