Tell us some good things about your college.

The college is situated on the outskirts of Mussoorie. They routinely organize legal activities like Moot Court Competitions, Youth Parliament Competitions, National Client Counselling, International Conferences, and many more. The faculty is excellent here. Faculty can be approached directly.

Are there any bad things about your college?

There are only a few negatives, in my opinion. Because the campus is very small and the rainy season is from June to October, day scholars face many problems as they miss classes due to rain and have to attend classes early in the morning from 09:15 a.m. to 04:30 p.m., and attending classes all day is a stressful thing.

How has your experience in your college been till now?

In my fourth year of law school, I’ve embarked on an enlightening journey of legal exploration. The curriculum has evolved from foundational principles to intricate case studies, refining my analytical thinking.

Engaging in moot court competitions and internships has bolstered my practical skills, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Collaborating with diverse peers has enriched my perspective and honed my teamwork abilities. As I delve deeper into specialized areas like constitutional and international law, I’m finding my passion within the legal landscape.

How’s the faculty?

The faculty is excellent since they will always encourage you to participate in extracurricular activities. You are free to approach them personally. Dr. Ashish Verma interacts with students on a weekly basis and seeks to resolve their issues and he deals with all of them seriously, no matter how big or small the grievance. A faculty member who specializes in a certain subject will be assigned to you for that subject.

How’s the infrastructure (except hostels)?

The infrastructure of the college is adorable. However, the college is quite small. There is a separate law library for law students, and there is a moot court where seniors guide the juniors. In the college, students can join a variety of educational clubs.

How’s your hostel experience?

IMS Unison University has a campus hostel. The hostel provides an excellent experience. I’ve been living in the hostel since my first year and have never had any issues. The food is of good quality. Nevertheless, while going on a day out, one must bring a document signed by the warden. It is necessary to arrive at the hostel before 08:00 P.M.. There are double occupancy rooms. The hostel also has a gym!

How are your peers?

My exceptional classmates enrich my law school journey with their perspectives and support. Their friendship brings vibrancy to my life, making late-night study sessions feel like adventures. Our shared commitment to legal studies is beautifully balanced by moments of laughter, proving that a fulfilling lifestyle is integral to success.

How are the placements in your law college?

The placement cell in my college is good. It gets us many chances to work as interns. This helps us learn more practically about law. They really work hard to make sure we get good experiences and become better at law.

How are the co-curricular activities in your college?

My participation in co-curricular activities stands at par with my academic performance. At our college, co-curricular activities are vibrant and diverse, enhancing our law education beyond the classroom. From moot court competitions that sharpen our advocacy skills to legal workshops that broaden our perspectives, there’s something for everyone. Participating in student-run law societies, seminars, and guest lectures fosters holistic growth. These activities provide a platform to network, learn from experts, and develop leadership qualities.

What are some of the things you’d advise to a 1st-year student who enters your college?

As a fourth-year law student, my advice is to embrace every opportunity to learn, engage with peers and faculty, and build practical skills. Stay organized, manage your time effectively, and prioritize understanding over memorization. Participate in moot court competitions, seminars, and internships to gain real-world experience. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and seek guidance from professors. Best of luck!

Anything else that you’d like to mention?

Prioritize learning over memorizing. Develop strong research and writing skills early on. Remember, consistency and dedication are key to excelling in your legal studies. Enjoy the journey, make lasting connections, and lay a solid foundation for a successful legal career.
