About Lawctopus Law School

Conceptualized and kick-started in May 2019, and formally launched in March 2020, Lawctopus Law School has taught a wide range of skills to over 9000 law students, young lawyers, professionals, academicians, and business people in the last 3 years.

About the National Online Moot Court Competition

The Moot Court Competition is being conducted with the aim of creating opportunities for learning besides developing cutting edge skills advocacy. The vision of LLS through this Moot Court Competition is to develop the skills such as Research, Legal Writing, Critical Thinking, and Communication. Through this competition, we aim to shape aspiring lawyers by equipping them with the necessary tools for comprehensive growth and success in their legal careers.

The competition is scheduled to be held from 19th – 21st January 2024, on a virtual platform.

Competition Rules

  • The competition is open for students who are pursuing LLB three year or five years course from any law school/college/university in India recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Each team should consist of 3 members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
  • There shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher designated for each team. The researcher shall be allowed to argue with prior permission of the court in case of illness of the designated speakers.
  • Each team will be provided a team code prior to the submission of memorials via e- mail.
  • This team code is only for the memorials. Teams should not disclose the identity of their institution in their memorials; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification.

Prizes

  1. Winning team: Rs. 21000/- + 50% off on any Lawctopus Law School’s Course
  2. Best Researcher: Rs. 5000/- + 30% off on any Lawctopus Law School’s Course
  3. Best Memorial: Rs. 5000/- + 30% off on any Lawctopus Law School’s Course
  4. Best Speaker: Rs. 5000/- + 30% off on any Lawctopus Law School’s Course

Note: All participants will be awarded participation certificates.

Registration Fee

For registration to the competition, a payment of Registration Fee of INR 5,000/- per team is required to be made by a team willing to register for the competition.

Important Dates

  • Last Date to Register for Competition: November 30, 2023
  • Last Date for Submission of Memorials (Soft Copy) for Competition: January 15, 2024 by 11:59 PM (23:59 Hrs)
  • Researcher’s Test: January 16, 2024
  • Draw of Lots, Exchange of Memorials, Preliminary Round I and Round II: January 19, 2024
  • Oral Rounds:-Quarter finals, Semi Finals: January 20, 2024
  • Final Oral Rounds & Valediction: January 21, 2024
