After a brief hiatus during the quiet times of the pandemic, the year of 2023 has witnessed more and more music festivals taking place across China, creating shared experiences where passion, purpose, family and friends come together. In this day and age, an increasing numbers of young Chinese people are reconnecting with the experience of live music.

Beyond the music itself, there are many other things to try at these festivals –from artisan coffee and food to antique markets and fashion outlets. The locations of these outdoor events can also vary, as seen in late October when a music festival was staged in a rural paddy field in a village outside Shanghai.
